Guide
How to take appointments on Instagram
Instagram brings the clients; the DMs lose them. Every “how much?” and “are you free Friday?” that waits hours for a reply is a booking leaking to whoever answers faster. The fix isn’t answering faster — it’s giving Instagram a booking door.
Set up the booking door
- Bio link → your booking page. Not a linktree of six things — the booking link, first and alone if bookings are what you want.
- A “BOOK 📅” story highlight: 2–3 slides showing your services and prices, ending in the link sticker.
- The link sticker in stories whenever you show your work: “this slot Friday is open → book here.”
Turn DMs into bookings, not conversations
Write one saved reply and use it relentlessly: “Hey! 💛 All prices and open times are here — pick what suits you: {link}. Anything special, just ask!” Warm, complete, and it moves the booking out of the chat. Instagram’s saved-replies feature (or just your phone’s clipboard) makes it one tap.
The discipline matters: every time you negotiate a booking manually in DMs, you teach followers that DMs work — and buy yourself another month of chat-scheduling.
Post like a calendar, not a portfolio
Portfolios inspire; calendars book. Mix in posts with time-anchored calls to action: “Two Saturday slots left this week”, “Taking February bridal trials now”. Scarcity that’s true is the most honest marketing there is — and your schedule shows you exactly what’s true.
Close the loop with results
When an online booking arrives, Reservy notifies you by email and it appears in your day marked “booked online” — so you can see, week by week, how much of your calendar Instagram is filling. What you can see, you can double down on.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use Instagram’s native “Book Now” button?
Instagram’s native booking buttons only connect to a short list of big platform partners. The universal approach — booking link in bio + link stickers — works for any system, including Reservy, and keeps you in control of the page clients land on.
What if clients still DM me instead of booking?
Some always will — that’s fine. Reply with your saved message and the link. After two weeks of consistency, most regulars go straight to the link, and the DMs that remain are genuine questions worth your time.
