How to get bookings from your Google Business Profile

When someone searches “barber near me” or “nail salon open now”, Google shows profiles, not websites. A complete profile with a booking link turns that search into an appointment in two taps — and it’s entirely free real estate.

Complete the profile like it’s your storefront

  • Claim and verify your business at google.com/business if you haven’t.
  • Category: pick the most specific one (“Barber shop”, not “Salon”) — it drives which searches you appear in.
  • Hours, phone, address (or service area), and photos — profiles with real photos get dramatically more clicks than empty ones.
  • Services: list them with prices. Google shows these directly in search results.

Add your booking link where it counts

In your profile, add your booking page URL as the appointment link. Searchers then see a “Book” action right on your profile — from search intent to a confirmed slot without a phone call. Any booking page URL works here, including your Reservy link.

Feed the profile with reviews

Reviews are the ranking fuel and the trust signal. The habit: after a good appointment, ask — ideally with the direct review link Google gives you (Profile → “Ask for reviews”). One ask per happy regular per year is plenty; steady beats bursty, and replying to reviews (all of them, briefly, kindly) signals a live business.

Post occasionally, not heroically

Profile posts (offers, updates, photos of work) keep the profile visibly alive. Once or twice a month is enough — recycle your Instagram material. The goal is a profile that looks open, current, and bookable at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

I work from home / mobile. Should I still have a profile?

Yes — set it up as a service-area business and hide the street address. You appear in local searches for your area without publishing where you live.

How long until the profile brings bookings?

The profile appears in search within days of verification; traction builds with reviews and completeness over weeks. It compounds: each review permanently improves every future search. Start the review habit now regardless.
